Iran to Launch Phase II of Major Condensate Refinery by Spring

BANDAR ABBAS, Feb. 28 (NIORDC) - Iran is planning to launch the second phase development of the Bandar Abbas Gas Condensate Refinery (also called Persian Gulf Star Refinery) in spring 2018, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said.
Addressing a gathering of people in the southern province of Hormuzgan, the president said the province, where the refinery is located, will soon be supplying 36 million liters of gasoline, 14 million liters of gasoline and 3 million liters of jet fuel, turning it into a major fuel supplier in the country.
The official said that phase II of the project, supplying 12 million liters per day of Euro-5 gasoline, will become operational by spring.
Persian Gulf Star Refinery"s first phase is currently operational and is supplying 12 ml/d of gasoline.
Iran is a major producer of ultra-light crude oil, also called gas condensate, and has devised several projects to refine the item into more value-added items including petrol and jet fuel.
Dr. Rouhani also announced construction of a massive oil export terminal in Jask by 2020 which will transform Iran"s crude oil exports.
Iran launched 15 major projects with an estimated value of IRR40,000b in the province during the president"s visit.
